Choosing a check interval

Monitors and PulsesUpdated Aug 6, 20262 min read

The interval is how often a Probe is scheduled or how often a Pulse is expected to report. Shorter intervals can detect a problem sooner, but they also create more checks and observations.

Free plans have a five-minute minimum interval. Pro plans have a one-minute minimum interval. Max plans have a 30-second minimum interval.

For a Pulse, choose a grace period that covers normal delivery delay without masking a missed job. For a Probe, choose regions and an interval that give you the signal you need without unnecessary load.

Edit the monitor to change its interval or other policy settings.
